WHAT IS 100% SUNFLOWER OIL?

Sunflower oil is produced by pressing, extracting, etc. from the seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) plant, whose oil content varies between 39-45 percent. It is a clear, liquid oil obtained by refining after processing.
Sunflower is one of the most important oil crops in the world and in our country, and is mostly grown as oil in our country. World sunflower production has been around 23 million tons in recent years, and Turkey is among the top ten countries in production and cultivation areas. While oil sunflower production in our country is generally concentrated in the Thrace-Marmara Region, confectionery production is mostly cultivated in the Central and Eastern Anatolia Region, with a small amount being cultivated in other regions.
Pure Sunflower oil contains mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids (oleic-linoleic acid). Its standard structure contains Palmitic acid 4–9%, Stearic acid 1–7%, Oleic acid (omega-9) 14–40%, Linoleic (omega-6) acid 48–74%. Sunflower oil has a mild taste and is rich in vitamin E. Sunflower oil also contains lecithin, tocopherols, carotenoids and waxes. Since the smoke point of sunflower oil is 232 °C, it is used in frying, but frying is a cooking method that should not be in your life. It leads to the formation of trans fatty acids. Sunflower oil contains 15 percent saturated and 85 percent unsaturated fatty acids, 14-43 percent of the unsaturated fatty acids are oleic acid, 44-75 percent are linoleic and at most 0.7 percent are linolenic acid. It is rich in Omega 6 fatty acids. There should be a certain balance of these fatty acids in our diet. Omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids are essential and must be obtained through food. Sunflower Oil, which is widely used as a liquid and in the production of margarine raw material solid oil, is a light yellow oil that can be refined and used. Sunflower oil; It contains unsaponifiable substances: 0.025-0.31 percent hydrocarbons, 0.542-0.584 percent sterols, 0.008-0.044 percent waxes. According to the fatty acid composition of sunflower oil;

The oil content in some types of seeds reaches up to 50%, making sunflower a valuable plant for oil production.
